Patrick Barber — 03/18/2022 I think it is important to read through this treaty, because the opinions of the members will be very important on this one. This treaty does in fact obligate us to a defence pact, and it has some very explicit calls for that pact. Members should read through the treaty thoroughly and be confident they understand and accept the terms. This is the first bi-lateral treaty Kodiak has endeavoured to enter into. It may (by virtue of being first) constitute the terms by which we continue to interact with foreign governments, and we should be prepared that other regions may ask similar requirements of us. I, as an OOC Kodiak Player, believe that this treaty is a net benefit to the region, but we should be critical and ensure we approve of the terms as a community. March 20, 2022

Patrick Barber — 03/20/2022 Are there really no comments on this?

Oskar Luchens (NUP) — 03/20/2022 Personally this seems very “run of the mill” as far as NS bilateral treaties go. I don’t see any major concerns to the writing of this. Although I plan to abstain since I have nothing at stake when it comes to NS.

Patrick Barber — 03/20/2022 it is inclusive of their offsite government

Oskar Luchens (NUP) — 03/20/2022 I saw that, what’s the level of activity in that? Much promise?

Patrick Barber — 03/20/2022 their community is quite steady for activity, probably more steady than ours at present. Though, its not as harmonious as ours. They seem to take some of their IC political animosity and it leaks into their OOC interactions. Their government has many more moving parts than ours, for better and worse. Their community moderation isn't as stringent as ours, but to be fair, their general chat is more active than ours, even if its a lot of meme ing. [9:14 AM] I'm trying not to state my opinion because, considering my background as admin and founder, I don't want anyone to vote just because I say I like or don't like them. [9:15 AM] I will do my best to answer questions as fairly as I can

Oskar Luchens (NUP) — 03/20/2022 Of course. Context is good to have going before the vote

Patrick Barber — 03/22/2022 Anyone else? March 23, 2022

Zoque Fotekh — 03/23/2022 No objections here.

H. Alinov Esq. (Yilmiz)(AND) — 03/23/2022 No objections from me as well.

Wesley Karlsson (New Asden) — 03/23/2022 No objections March 24, 2022

Tobias Virstürm (Vikstein) — 03/24/2022 I guess my only real question is, what exactly does the defense pact of this alliance entail? Should this be treated more as RP or as a NS official treaty? (edited)

Patrick Barber — 03/24/2022 It's been written mostly NS wise. Their government rp isn't seperate like ours. Short answer, no helping raid each other or each other's allies

Patrick Barber — 03/24/2022 I would say that if there are no more comments or questions, we should put the treaty to a vote tomorrow, as TDR have already begun their voting process and they only vote for 24 hours (edited) March 25, 2022

Oskar Luchens (NUP) — 03/25/2022 I second the motion March 28, 2022

Tobias Virstürm (Vikstein) — 03/28/2022 Seeing the motion, I will be putting this up for vote today.

People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon — 03/28/2022 I feel the need to ask if this treaty will eventually lead to a political union between the two regions? (edited) [10:27 AM] If that's the case, the choice is obvious if we seek to maintain a bare minimum of national integrity

@Tobias Virstürm (Vikstein) @Assembly Member a treaty to be approved by the assembly. Introduced by @Patrick Barber as an OOC Diplomatic Chief. https://kodiak.fandom.com/wiki/Treaty_of_Demkodia

Wesley Karlsson (New Asden) — 03/28/2022 This should help

People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon — 03/28/2022 Already read through all the articles and my doubt stays the same. It's more of a hypothetical scenario but yeah

@People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon I feel the need to ask if this treaty will eventually lead to a political union between the two regions? (edited)

Patrick Barber — 03/28/2022 I'm not sure I understand the question: Lead to a political?

Wesley Karlsson (New Asden) — 03/28/2022 This shouldn’t result in “political connection” with one a other. And you’re supposed to be asleep sir. (edited)

People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon — 03/28/2022 Forgot to type union, i appologise

People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon — 03/28/2022 Alright, i guess that answers my question

1

Patrick Barber — 03/28/2022 No. There are no intentions for the relationship to expand any further than mutual defence and cultural exchange.

People's Republic Of Chuja Myeon — 03/28/2022 Alright, thank you

Patrick Barber — 03/28/2022 and even in the hypothetical - TDR is even more against loss of integrity than us
