@Assembly Member
Skilled Workers Incentive Scheme, 644
An act to address the shortage of teachers rapidly while simultaneously improving the Republic’s extremely low immigration levels by providing subsidised immigration costs of immigration for those who fulfill jobs that we are in dire shortage of.
https://kodiak.wiki/wiki/Skilled_Workers_Incentive_Scheme,_644

This Act is automatically under review due to the funding period expiring.
It is the duty of the Assembly to either Renew, or Amend this act.
I suggest either amending 2.2 to make the scheme permanent or repealing the act in an effort to minimise GA time being used for automated reviews.

Voting is presently set for 15 Jan 2023

Once again our teacher shortage is top priority. The review was designed to ensure the list is updated or investigated frequently but as we are trying to move away from automated reviews like this one, I would recommend we make this permanent. Anyone can recommend amending the list at any time to include other professions. Construction workers have not been included in this list (despite the upcoming need) in order to not impact on the jobs of existing citizens and instead focus only on professions where we are suffering shortages.

I believe this act was necessary when we passed it and still is today; I'm all for making it a permanent thing.
Reifyrm Visdvk [I] — 02/01/2023 06:37
As am I.
Pandor X — 02/01/2023 15:21
I wholeheartedly agree with this act becoming permanent our Citizens deserve to have a good education.
Charlotte Groves (Juliette) — 02/01/2023 16:18
In this case I move for the following clause to be removed: 2.2 - The incentive scheme shall last no longer than 5 years, after which time the scheme shall be assessed for impact by the panel of assessors. If not declared to continue by the Assembly, once presented with the assessors report, the scheme shall cease at the end of the 5 year period.
John Edwards [KWP] — 02/01/2023 18:07
Agreed.
Klaus Mikaelson — 03/01/2023 04:10
I will second the motion.
John Edwards [KWP] — 03/01/2023 10:20
I'll make the amendment as soon as I can access my computer (after the 4th)

Hows this? did you send me this? I can't recall anymore
John Edwards [KWP] — 06/01/2023 11:28
I haven't done it yet. Hoping to today.
John Edwards [KWP] — 06/01/2023 14:43
Struck out 2.2. Wasn't sure if I should completely wipe it until voted on.

because the act is actually at present in effect, the amendment will need to voted on here as an independent pinned entry - we can't change the law while its' in effect
John Edwards [KWP] — 06/01/2023 14:45
Thus the problem with review laws
So how do we do this? vote to repeal this one and put up an identical one without 2.2?
Scratch that. Brain not on
Keep this one but add seperate amendment bill right?

Just type the amendment you would like to see here in between backward apostrophes and I will pin it and we will vote on the pinned amendment
John Edwards [KWP] — 06/01/2023 14:50
2.2 - Funding for the scheme shall be set at 750 million Florins per quarter.
Erase 2.3
