A resolution by the Grand Assembly to establish a holiday and mourning day in the calendar.

WHEREAS the nation has overcome the struggles of the Civil War and achieved a staggering victory against the Kodiak Commune,

ARGUING for the importance of honouring and commemorating the sacrifices made by individuals who fought for the nation's unity and freedom as well as the citizenry,

NOTING that the establishment of both the National Veterans Day and Civil War Remembrance Day shall serve as a symbol of national unity, resilience and justice,

BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE GRAND ASSEMBLY OF THE MOST SERENE REPUBLIC OF KODIAK ESTABLISHES THE FOLLOWING NATIONAL HOLIDAY AND MOURNING DAY:

1. National Veterans Day

A bank holiday to be celebrated annually on [TBD]. This day shall serve as an occasion for national celebration, reflection, and gratitude for the sacrifices made by those who contributed to the nation's defence in times of war and peace. A small area accorded by local governments may be used to put up preparations for celebration.

2. Civil War Remembrance Day

A day to be observed annually on April 7th, dedicated to remembering and honouring the individuals who lost their lives, suffered injuries, or endured hardships during the Civil War. This day shall be marked by solemn ceremonies, memorial services, and acts of remembrance by the local and national administrations across the nation to ensure that the sacrifices of civil war victims are never forgotten.
