Crystal City was finally recaptured on the 13th January, 665. This came after support from the URA, including armoured tanks, arrived to help the Kodiak Army in an assault. On the 18th, Commune forces would begin to withdraw.
Toward the end of the term, Maltravers's health had declined greatly. He had noticeably aged and was sleeping far more than usual. The effects of the Commune and the uprising had caused a majority of these issues. As the election period drew closer, Maltravers announced he would run to seek a second term.
