On 23rd January, 663, Maltravers would have his official portrait done. The first bill of his government was the amendment to the Kodiak Rights Act, specifically in regard to abortion. Later on into his term he had to place his Deputy Chancellor into the position of Acting Chancellor due to some personal matters OOC. Among the first successes of the Maltravers administration would be the passing of an amendment to the Kodiak Nation Rights Act which liberalised the restrictions around abortion, the amendment was written by Maltravers himself.
 
In late November of 663 civil war broke out, Maltravers was admittedly not quick to realise beforehand, yet was swift to respond once it became evidently apparent. He was deeply hesitant but took steps he believed to be right. As the rebellion became more serious, he began to push for military action, officially abandoning His Pacifist ways.

Before his accession to politics, he continued to work at his Small Medical Practice and Bookshop until becoming chancellor. As a result of his multiple jobs, he was able to earn quite a bit of money, an estimated 90,000 florins per year. He also continues to advocate for nonviolence and protection of small businesses. In 663, some time after him becoming Chancellor, his mother Sybill would die at the age of 81.
 
He is a member of the Quakers, practising as a Quaker Pacifist until 663. Although, unusually for a Quaker, he attends church - specifically St Matthew the Apostle's church in Sankey. He also attends more traditionally Quaker meeting houses as well.
