In the early days of his career, Fjord heard about the Kodiak Republic through an ally, and looked to join it. In the year 660 (Kodiak Years) Fjord Montgomery II joined the Second Ward Cabinet as the Minister of Social Services.

The reason behind Fjord Montgomery II's Handsomeness and young look is because he has paid for a special life extension program developed in Aargh. Fjord is in fact 53 years old but looks like a 30 year old, this is because the program slows the ageing process and lets Fjord live double his lifetime with the looks and abilities of his younger self whilst keeping all of his knowledge and memories.
