Drugs are pretty much a non issue here mainly for cultural reasons as it affects someone's readiness to fight big time alcohol has become more of a problem though

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
I think we need a clearer picture

[5:03 PM]
My point still stands though

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
I want the tax to be lower for small businesses compared to multi national companies x)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Agreed

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Do... we even have a tobacco industry?

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
I think we do

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Frankly, tobacco as a industry is one that's currently on the decline globally, and destroys soil nutrients in very little time
[5:07 PM]
I would not be opposed for jumping the curve and beginning to push our economy away from a dying industry to one more economically and ecologically friendly (edited)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Thats true

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
A dying industry that gives a couple thousand of people money to live.

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Very true
[5:09 PM]
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) they can work elsewhere like in the fields of Sparta

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
We can try and reduce the use of tobacco, but do it gradually. So that we have time to create more job in different areas
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc)
A dying industry that gives a couple thousand of people money to live.

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
We can easily supplement them with alternative crops

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
30% would instantly kill the industry

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
A dying industry that kills a couple of thousand people every week (edited)

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Agreed

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
There's several crops that grow in the exact same conditions and are far more ecological then tobacco

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Yep
Joshua Lopez - Slatium
A dying industry that kills a couple of thousand people every week (edited)

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
The industry does not, the use of tobacco does

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Pulling away from the industry will stop the use of tobacco

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
And why does the industry grow tobacco?
[5:10 PM]
So it can be used

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Pawpaw trees and wild apricot both grow in the exact same climate, and do not destroy the soil like tobacco
[5:11 PM]
Just to name 2 options

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
When theres probably 10 more

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Not to mention they also have multiple other uses
[5:11 PM]
mainly in medicine

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
By the way. shisha (from Arabic states) is dependent of tobacco, killing the industry would also kill a religious tradition

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Okay, and?

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
They can always grow it themselves on a small scale or replace with other things

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Spartan religious traditions have had to adapt to be legal like removing human sacrifice (edited)

[5:13 PM]
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) lol your happy today

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Let the shisha grow it themselves if they really need it
[5:14 PM]
Dont let them make an industry of it

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Other crops that can be alternatives to tobacco include: French beans, potato, felon, sweet gourd, chill, eggplant, groundnut or tomato, wheat, garlic, masur, mustard and leafy amaranths, leaves of radish, coriander, okra, bitter gourd, yard long bean, spinach and cabbage

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
@Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP any proof that tobacco destroys the land ?

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) he's lots

Tobias Virstürm (Vikstein) — 07/25/2022
@Assembly Member The resolution has been corrected to reflect the final draft of what the proposed assembly member wished to show to the assembly. Please take the time to review the adjustments.

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) well it can destroy your brain clearly so maybe that's proof?

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
(taxation has been removed from the bill but everything stays the same)

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Please standby

He got proofed
@ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ
@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) well it can destroy your brain clearly so maybe that's proof?

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Hmm hmm, disagreed.

[5:16 PM]
The industry of tobacco does not

[5:16 PM]
The use of it does

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
You keep trying to seperate the industry from the effects of it's products

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
For proof tobacco is bad this is what it did to my brain (edited)
[5:17 PM]

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Nicotine is the reason why we get addicted, tobacco itself is not addicting

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Coughs in tobacco nicotine

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Excuse you?
[5:17 PM]
Nicotine gets us addicted
[5:17 PM]
Tobacco kills us
[5:18 PM]
And other chemicals

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Tobacco would not be a problem if nicotine wasn't incorporated in cigarettes

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Heres a research paper detailing the exact destruction of soil nutrition and fertility, it takes 2 years of tobacco to destroy it without outside interference (edited)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
It would, what?

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Not then it wouldn't addict people it would just kill them
You are saying.like tobacco doesnt do anything to the body

[5:19 PM]
While nicotine does everything?

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
I am not.

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
More like the other way round nicotine is fine tobacco bad

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Nicotine is not fine

[5:19 PM]
At all

[5:19 PM]
But saying it that if removed will improve ciggaretes

[5:19 PM]
Is just plain stupid

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Nicotine : gets people addicted If we remove it from cigarettes people won't get addicted to cigarettes and won't need to consume every single day

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Ahem Gentlemen, I would like to request that you give Mister Bernier time to read the scientific documents given to him

[5:20 PM]
So he can understand the depth of the issue and how terrible Tobacco is enviromentally (edited)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
It would be wise

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
I'll take the time to read them.

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Or won't consume it at all

[5:21 PM]
That will also kill your industry

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ
Or won't consume it at all

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Smoking stays a pleasure that a lot of people enjoy. Even if they are not addicted.
ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Not rlly plus with addiction gone that would make the industry practically non existent

Zachary — 07/25/2022
Cigars

[5:23 PM]
Some people like having those

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
True but that still would make it a horrifically tiny industry maybe even just a factory with 100 workers

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Removing chemicals-industry destroyed Banning ciggaretes-industry destroyed

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Healthier alternatives can be found to smoking tobacco

[5:25 PM]
And those who truly wish to continue up their practices

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
The proposed law is to try and make people not smoke

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Can choose to pay the price

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Without banning ciggaretes

[5:25 PM]
Or chemicals in it

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
I would prefer a full ban personally but I will take a compromise.

Zachary — 07/25/2022
Geiss will probably start making cigars in resistance

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Agreed

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
The alternatives should be shown only if the patient really cant stop

[5:26 PM]
And needs a healthier alternative

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Even if you removed every chemical and used matches instead of lighters you'd still burn your lungs rlly

@ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ
Not rlly plus with addiction gone that would make the industry practically non existent

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Isn't this what you guys want ?

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
I would prefer a simple age ban, if you're currently under the age of X, you are entirely prohibited from being sold tobacco.

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Smaller tobacco industry

Zachary — 07/25/2022
I WANT BIG

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Tiny tiny industry can't even rlly call it an industry

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
Here for the people that didn't see general

Micheal Valois (Tanith) - NUP — 07/25/2022
Ah, thank you

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
To those wanting to stop but cant should get treatment

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Think about it remove the appeal of smoking demand plummets and the same thing happens as would happen if we banned and they all end up working in the fields of Sparta's

Zachary — 07/25/2022
Geiss loves supply and demand. We will stick with it.

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
If we outright ban tobacco right now the economy will suffer

2

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
Maybe 1 factory remains to roll out afew thousand a day

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
We want to stop people slowly

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
@Joshua Lopez - Slatium agreed stable decline in the industry and gradual replacing of it

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
It is up to us to educate the people, not force them to stop buying products

Zachary — 07/25/2022
Geiss wants to keep it going. We want economic power.

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
Anyway the whole point of my bill is to encourage people to get treatment and educate them about treatment, not exactly outright ban cigarettes and stuff yet

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Better slow and stable than immedate decline

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
@Joshua Lopez - Slatium stable decline imho (edited)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Imop?

[5:29 PM]
Imho?

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
In my honest opinion

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
Also I see that we have a new party

@Joshua Lopez - Slatium
Better slow and stable than immedate decline

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
Let's educate the people then :)

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
Ah okay

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022

@Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc)
Let's educate the people then :)

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
... literal whole point of my bill?

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
We want education to stop future gens smoking

ᛅᛁᚢᚬᛦ — 07/25/2022
How about a war on people smoking fags?

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
Look can we get away from banning cigarettes to my actual bill

Zachary — 07/25/2022
This just in: People flock to Geiss to get their cig fix

Joshua Lopez - Slatium — 07/25/2022
We want treatements to 18+ people

horsiecattie89 — 07/25/2022
If you want to ban them debate them elsewhere
@horsiecattie89
... literal whole point of my bill?

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
The taxation implied with the creation of your bill is a horrible idea.

[5:31 PM]

[5:32 PM]
Thats surely better than banning cigs (edited)

Gustave Bernier - KWP (old acc) — 07/25/2022
I will vote yes for this act, even though I will refuse to vote yes for the taxation act and encourage people of TKR to do the same.

Shouldn't this contradict to the tax reform? since the stop of drugs pwould make the tax reform useless?

could the author of the bill speak towards this question?

John Edwards [KWP] — 07/25/2022
I am in support of this. The proposal seeks to improve health outcomes with a multi stage approach. Funding request is reasonable.

Not in any way. Please reread the tax reform bill and we can debate it there.

could the author of the bill speak towards this question?

This was written and published way before the tax reform bill was even started so (edited)

Also there is nothing in my bill that suggests banning drugs
[2:13 AM]
This bill's focus is getting treatment to addicts

Would it then stand to reason that it may need to be updated in spots to do take passed legislation into account?

Which parts in particular? Genuinely interested in hearing people out as my perspective is just one here, so not aimed at any one person though I am replying directly! I for the moment disagree with it contradicting the tax reform. For starters, the idea that any one strategy will eliminate drug dependency across the country seems high optimistic. I see this as a targeted act towards rehabilitation of people that have fallen into the dependency loop, and helping them escape it. It's fairly specific, and if anything I do not see a combined effort towards less drug use being a net negative. Is it not a good thing that tax revenue decreases a bit due to better health outcomes? The tax reform doesn't just deal with drug use after all. There could also be an argument for a net positive due to better health outcomes decreasing the burden on the healthcare system overall, which can benefit where healthcare funding is invested in the future towards other critical areas.

Honestly my idea was to educate addicts that rehabilitation doesn't mean putting them in a straitjacket and letting them sweat their addiction out or whatever people imagine rehabilitation is, and to provide people who are too embarrassed to seek out treatment with a way to do so without risking having their addiction revealed
[9:37 AM]
Idk why and how did the discussion become about banning all drugs outright (edited)
[9:38 AM]
Like sure now they're illegal, congrats, addicts gonna die

Hester Sirocco-Loren (Juliette) — 07/26/2022
^ For starters the act doesn't ban drugs. I also see a positive benefit to encouraging rehabilitation.

horsiecattie89 — 07/26/2022
And how does taxes concern rehabilitation anyway
[9:41 AM]
Or banning drugs

Oskar Luchens (NUP) — 07/26/2022
I am in support of this bill as it currently stands. I would suggest that at a future date we should draft legislation to crate a Drug Inspection Agency for these experimental items. At this time, the lack of quality control within the republic is my largest concern for the people.

I second a motion to vote, unless that wasn't a motion, then I motion that we go to a vote!
