@Assembly Member Discussion is now opened for the second of the Zeppelin Wave. Voting is presently set for June 7th. Jonn Stevens (DPPK) — 05/24/2023 10:50 PM I like this bill it allows us to crack down on monopolies while giving us more income God knows we need more income von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/24/2023 11:28 PM Who has any questions, gentlemen? Grant Shadbolt [CKA] — 05/25/2023 12:24 AM I like it One small issue is that companies could simply avoid any escalation under 3.5 by using different "enterprises" each time, although I'm not sure how you would counter that. Socialist Gear — 05/25/2023 2:08 AM I also support it von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/25/2023 2:30 AM I have been thinking about this, and I see two solutions to this: equating the economically unjustified sale/disbandment of the enterprise with antitrust methods, or creating a law on restricting the movement of capital. I chose the latter. Otherwise, even five percent of capitalization is not bad for the budget. John Cray(DPPK) — 05/25/2023 7:05 AM I too support this bill Charlotte Groves (Juliette)[KWP] — 05/25/2023 7:43 AM I have one thing I want to raise and that pertains to the funding. I don't think 400,000 florins (100k per quarter) is remotely enough funding to allow an effective commission that can enforce this law, investigate monopolies and anti-competition practices, build cases against such enterprises in breach of this law, and work with consumer complaints. I'd say we're off by a minimum of 10x at the very least - 1 million per quarter if this is to be a serious attempt at anti-monopoly work. I feel this is a more relevant and operable amount of funding, considering the funding for the Business Council in article 2 for administration is presently 43 million per quarter. Plus arbitration courts being funded quarterly to the tune of 7.95 million (Article 1). von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/25/2023 8:09 AM I will raise up to 1 million per quarter - this will be enough for employees and for the purchase of equipment - this will be enough for literally everything and with the remainder. As for the other services, it seems to me that they receive too much, although a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of public services and commissions is required here. Aaron Beester (UKN) — 05/25/2023 5:25 PM I support this bill too von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/26/2023 9:31 AM Perhaps someone has doubts? Objections? Or even conspiracy theories? Even just the opinion expressed is important. von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/27/2023 8:33 AM Crazy ideas and unreasonable moods are also accepted. New Asden — 05/27/2023 11:16 AM Has my stamp of approval von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/28/2023 1:47 AM I don't know how polite it is, but @Mivod Hlaja [NUP], maybe you have something to say about the bill? I see no good reason to vote against this bill. I would prefer if funding were lower, say 800 thousand Florins, because of our current financial situation. Unless a major change is made to the bill, I will vote in favour. Mivod Hlaja [NUP] OP

I would like to request that the assembly sends more than 16 messages before a vote is called, Grant Shadbolt [CKA] — 05/31/2023 12:12 AM This is clearly such an excellent bill (proposed by none other than the leader of the CKA), that nobody even has any further comments on it! von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/31/2023 12:18 AM Thank you for such nice words.
Perhaps someone has unvoiced suggestions? Or does the degree of understanding tend to zero? I will be happy to answer questions and discuss suggestions. Mivod Hlaja [NUP] OP

Again, I would prefer if funding were reduced to ~800K Florins. This can of course be increased in the future. The Republic Of Kurdipam (CKA) — 05/31/2023 12:22 AM Hi Charlotte Groves (Juliette)[KWP] — 05/31/2023 12:22 AM 800k/quarter? I am okay with that. It should be increased in the future even if it were 1M/quarter. The Republic Of Kurdipam (CKA) — 05/31/2023 12:22 AM What is this topic about Mivod Hlaja [NUP] OP

Check the pinned messages. You’ll find a link there. von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/31/2023 12:40 AM I created an Antimonopoly Service of minimal size, reducing funding to the size of physical existence. For example, in France, the budget of a similar authority in 2002 amounted to about 8 million euros. Therefore, an even greater reduction in the budget is very problematic. Braughn F. G. Kryos — 05/31/2023 6:14 AM If Kodiak had an industry the size of France in 2002, I might agree. However, we do not. And we are in a serious budgetary crisis. I applaud the bill, but the funding might be overbudgeted. von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/31/2023 6:40 AM A million florins is, in fact, a trifle. Especially for such an important regulator of the economy. Braughn F. G. Kryos — 05/31/2023 6:41 AM There is always an opportunity to raise it later should we have more funding and the need von Zeppelin [CKA] — 05/31/2023 6:46 AM This is true, but I, as I said above, compressed the Antimonopoly Service to a physical minimum. Then there is nothing banal to reduce - except to disband it itself. It's like a book: you can always increase the number of pages, but there can't be less than one page in a book. In our case, the book has one sheet, with a gnawed corner. Charlotte Groves (Juliette)[KWP] — 05/31/2023 7:08 AM Mind you a million florins is probably like 300k Euros worth, and approx 100k Euros if taking exchange rates. (Not strictly, but I'm doing a lazy abstraction given our fantasy relation to USD). Mivod Hlaja [NUP] OP
