Kodiak awakes in 642 largely in the same position it was in in 639. Government inaction by the Karlsson administration has meant no meaningful social advancement has been exacted. Large portions of the working poor are still homeless, food prices are still exorbitant and
the water crisis continues to damage agricultural lands and drinking water reserves. The economy has slowly grown, in spite of all this, but this is likely due to the global economic recovery and not due to any internal government policy. Socialism is on the rise in Kodiak, not simply with the election of Patrick Barber and his Workers' Party, but also in the general population. Trade Unionism has also shown a strong increase in within the last three years. War with our northern neighbours weighs heavily in the minds of our citizens, and the cynical economists wonder if defence investment might be just what the doctor ordered to shift more cash into the pockets of every day Kodiakers. Good luck, because I think you're going to need it.
