The 666 General Election was held on 01 April 2024, with campaigning beginning on 18 March 2024. Incumbent Chancellor Dr Edmund Maltravers of the NUP declared for Chancellor. Incumbent President Braughn Kyros of the KWP
The previous government was run by the National Unity Party in majority. The outbreak of a [[Timeline_of_the_Rebellion|communist insurrection]] in response to the NUP victory occupied much of the government's attention throughout the term. The government faced considerable criticism for its prosecution of the war and this resulted in a major backslide in support for the NUP. Dr. Maltravers entered a coalition with the DPPK to ensure confidence of the assembly and the coalition won handily against the broken KWP.
