A bill to ensure that workers' voices are heard by their employers.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE MOST SERENE REPUBLIC OF KODIAK:

KNOWING that the civil war was causes due to the workers' disempowerment by their employers;

HOPING to avoid a tragic repeat of that terrible calamity;

HEREBY SHALL;

ENACT the Workers' Representation Act as below.

Article 1 - For Corporations

1.1 All corporations, as defined in The Kodiak Revenue Directorate Act (630), shall be required to have two members on their Board of Directors or other similar governance organ who are elected by the employees at large.
1.2 This election is to be held by secret ballot, is open to all employees of a corporation, and shall be conducted annually.
1.3 No serving member of the governance organ shall be elected to this representative position.
1.4 These worker representatives shall serve for a single year between elections, and if removed before then may seek redress from the Ministry of Commerce and Labour.
1.5 Employees shall be permitted to meet with their representative/s freely and without interference, and shall be protected from harassment and/or discrimination for their choice of representative.
