If the Chancellor is plotting to assassinate members of his own government, I believe that we are all in danger.

Without a doubt, this is the worst possible situation for our people. An attempted murderer in the highest office of the land, the one entrusted with ensuring that the peaceful enforcement of our laws? Unacceptable. This cannot be allowed to last an hour, a minute, or a second longer than it needs to.

Insofar as I believe that his removal from the Assembly should be done after the official investigation - I believe a suspension under house arrest would be sufficient at this time, given how the case around him is.

Joanna Sousa KWP (Juliette) — 09/15/2024 6:16 PM On the other hand, a suspension would leave his constituents in limbo and without a path to a timely by-election. Either way, suspension is also a valid option to pursue if need be given that the election will come in the near future.

Joseph Fala (KSDP) — 09/15/2024 7:39 PM I understand that you think a leader shouldn't be constrained in order to do what is right... but assassating a political opponent is government overstepping it's authority.

We come to this assembly to debate issues of all kinds to find compromise and pass bills. The legislative and executive branches work together to pass laws for all in our system. It's our system of checks and balances that keep the Chancellor from gaining too much power over the government. In our system, there are no kings or queens but power is shared between the Chancellor and thr cabinet along with the legislative branch that passes laws. The Chancellor may run the government but still has to answer to this legislative body. And if these assassination attempts become the norm or what you think should be normal here, its intimidation, it keeps opposition away from the legislative body and it would bring our country closer to facisum or socialism or totalitarianism. The opposition is here to make sure the Chancellor is held accountable for there actions and is also here to help create bills for people who may not agree with the executive to make compromise or to represent there voices in government.

If you think that it is OK for the Chancellor to go assassinate political opponent. You are living in the wrong country and I would also say that you do not deserve to be sitting in this very assembly with your borderline facist/totalitarian ideas.
