@Assembly Member Debate is now open for the assembly. @Joseph Fala, DPPK you have the floor first. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 08:48 Thank you Mr. President.
This bill is to create an overall investigation to the origins of political extremism in this country and for us in the Assembly as members to understand what steps need to be made to reduce the chances of having insurgent groups like the Commune from ever gaining power like they have to cause this civil war.
By this investigation, we can get to the true route of the problem and solve it to make sure no civil war can ever break out in this country ever again. This is an effort for us to be proactive as an assembly. With the investigation results, we can pass laws to prevent things from happening.
A lot of insurgency typicly comes from economic orgins. People go into extreamism when the system we build isn't picking them up out of poverty. There is a belief that the system isn't helping them. Which is why they can turn to extremism and join things like the Commune. But its also not exclusive to the Commune. It is also seen with fascist and revolutionary movements as well.
This is why I wrote this bill. And I look forward to answering your questions Liam Harrison [KWP] — 01/05/2024 08:50 (( May we see the bill? )) Jack Williams (DPPK) OP

It has been added María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:09 ((Isn't this just a commission to receive info that we already get from the Public Service?)) Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:09 ((This is how you do it)) María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:11 Does this bill really give any insight on something we can't already gather from the Public Service's information avaliable to any Assembly member? If not, then this is just turning a government stance into a useless moneypit. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:14 The only thing we know are the news articles that are posted on the commune and its orgins. It doesn't deal with the economic factors that also play into the matter as well. We need to interview captured members of the commune and understand there stories on how they ended up where they are and understand those orgins to build a better picture This will also help us in the long term so we can avoid problems like this in the future María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:25 That information can and is disclosed to the government if needed. Most of it can also be provided to Assembly members if the Public Service is allowed to. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:26 I would like it all in a report that can be accessed without me scrolling through transcripts María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:29 You don't need to do that, you just need to ask the Public Service for the information. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:30 But Public Service doesn't go into the economic factors that are needed which is why we need a report They just point to a news article and its not enough infromation to build a complete picture We constantly add new members to the assembly. I want that infromation to be easy to find and not every member knows to contact Public Service María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:42 ... They don't. You don't even know how can information be provided to you? María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:43 This doesn't justify this kind of ammendment. It is, once again, turning a government stance into a money pit. It just proves once again you are, at best, somewhat fit for such a position you hold. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:45 I would like to say Ms Maria, statesments like this is why nobody likes you María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 09:46 You certainly don't like me. Now, you are not the only other Assembly member. But enough with derailing. Tell me how this ammendment could even be justified for the expenses. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 09:48 Its about centralizing the information in one place and adding information on the economic factors that may surround the growth of the commune. These are important pieces of the puzzle that need to be added so we can address with future legislation. This is not a waist of money. The Assembly is allowed to ask for infromation for the purpose of lawmaking and this is what this addresses Its hard to build a complete picture right now because you need to read a lot of news articles and government reports to build somewhat of a picture. But it doesn't build a complete picture of what exactly happens You in particular should want to make sure things like the Commune never comes back. This is the first step in doing that. And I am doing my part to help address that problem María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 10:05 Once again. The Public Service. Provides it. The information is already centralized and avaliable to anyone who wishes to learn about it. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:06 Also having a report can just simplify Public Service's Job because if anyone ask, Public Service just sends a link and doesn't have to constantly remind different members of what happens. It will save a lot more time in the long term María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 10:09 It is a waste of money and you can't provide a good reason that spending 50 million florins on making a completely new department so they do something we already have. If you want to make ammendments, make them good. Not this. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:11 I just gave plenty of good reasons because I'm pretty sure we spend more money on this war then this report will ever receive. To prevent civil wars in the future I think this is a wise investment Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:12 But I will have to make an amendment to that statement because that's not how you spell "Amendments" María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 10:14 ((The assemby isn't done by writing, so such mistakes are dumb to point out lol)) Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:14 ((I wanted to bother you and break the 4th wall at the same time)) Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:19 I do think that 50 million florins is excessive in the extreme. This body can do this project adequately within the timeline with a budget a tenth of the size. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:21 I want to quickly point out that Mr Welch proposed a bill that was withdrawn with an investigation cost that was 80 million Florins Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:21 At best, you're asking for 138 thousand florins a day. I do not see why a simple commission should need such extravagant spending for a period of 12 months. Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:21 And I would have debated it on the same grounds? The Resolution to Investigate Foreign Assistance to Internal Dissenters, (664), presented by the late Mr. Kovak, and the Investigation Into Non-Participatory Civilian Deaths During Astroberg Uprising (665), both of which successfully accomplished their missions, had 0 allocated funding. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:24 This bill was written off of Mr. Welch's bill as a example. I just figured that was the standard cost of an investigation That part can be amended Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:25 It is not. Using Mr. Welch's highly questionable bill as a basis is, itself, highly questionable. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:26 The bill was already questionable for other reasons Mr. Kryos. This was the only bill I was looking at when I was writing this one R. Henry Welch, III [NUP] — 01/05/2024 10:26 I'm mostly confused as to what the investigation is meant to provide that isn't already obvious Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:27 I explained that the Economic Factors for the rise of the commune wasn't explained very well Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:29 Though I know it will be for different reasons than Mr. Welch would state, I am in agreement with the member from redacted. I am not sure what this bill seeks to uncover that isn't already obvious with common sense. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:32 I want to really take a much more detained closer look. I would like a breakdown from each community and what the difference between each community is. Graz is not the same city as its suburbs. And the next town may not be the same and policies what we pass in this assembly affect communites differently By having these things can make our legislation in the future a little bit more targetted to these underepresented communities Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:33 Our role as the national assembly is to make laws for the nation. I understand that we have a responsibility to consider the impact of our laws, but we are hardly in the position of legislating for each individual community, but rather for the communities of the nation as a whole. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:34 I'm pretty sure you have been frustrated Mr. Kryos that your voice hasn't been heard and I'm sure you would want the people that you represent be heard a little bit better Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:35 I doubt that any such investigation would allow for me personally to benefit from being heard better. And I am extremely privaledged to be heard as much as I am. The members of the working class have been oppresed for centuries without a voice; there's no need to investigate the "economic origins" of this rebellion. It's a rather obvious thing to waste 50 million florins and months of the Assembly's time on. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:38 If I reduced the funding to 5 million Florins, would that be better Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:43 It would be better to have none. In short, it would be better to spend time on subjects that should actually take up the time of the Assembly, like ending the war we are currently fighting. María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 10:44 I agree with Mr.Kryos here, however weird it might be. This is but a waste of space in the queue. Braughn F. G. Kryos — 01/05/2024 10:45 If the author wishes for it to continue to a vote, that is his perrogative. If he believes that this legislation will function in some meaningful way, that is his right. I do not and will therefore not be supporting of it. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 10:46 I beleive there will be a good benefit for all of us despite your disapproval María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 19:57 I suggest the author to shelve this act unless you plan to make an amendment that could make this useful in any way. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 22:38 What if we amend it to see if the investigation can look at any other possable national movements that we may not know about and that orgin María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 22:46 I believe the SBI is there for that. Joseph Fala, DPPK — 01/05/2024 22:58 But is the SBI willing to give that information Jack Williams (DPPK) OP
— 01/05/2024 23:13
I wonder if the SBI is doing their jobs María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 01/05/2024 23:53 They do the job of investigating, then the info goes to the Public Service Braughn F. G. Kryos — 02/05/2024 00:00 If the SBI is withholding crucial information, that’s an issue with the SBI’s function. Klaus Mikaelson [Ind] — 03/05/2024 05:14 (ok, not talking about me, close one) Braughn F. G. Kryos — 05/05/2024 06:51 I would like to request that we move the date of the vote for this bill up. Sounds good to me Braughn F. G. Kryos — 05/05/2024 07:00 Is the President open for motions to vote? Jack Williams (DPPK) OP

New date will be the 18th María Sanz-Cortés [NUP] — 05/05/2024 16:58 Remind me which queue is this in? R. Henry Welch, III [NUP] — 05/05/2024 17:00 Image Jack Williams (DPPK) OP
