WORK IN PROGRESS
The Second Williams Cabinet is the current government of the Serene Republic of Kodiak. It is led by Chancellor Jack Williams and Deputy Chancellor Arnold Malcolm, both of the Kodiak Social Democrat Party.
It was installed following a controversial ending to the 669 Kodiak General Election where The Kodiak Workers' Party candidate, Braughn Kryos had the most votes but didn't have 50% majority which then sprung the Kingmaker rule allowing the third-place candidate, Antonio Recio Rufián to form a coalition with Hurst and take the government on January 14th, 669. Hurst's cabinet was confirmed by the Kodiak General Assembly three days later.
The cabinet brought labor law changes with reductions in minimum wage while having better standards in paid leave for newly parents. Late in 669, Foreign Affairs minister, Bernard Glocke joined in a handshake participation with President Charles Winter of Wintercrest. They agreed to allow Kodiak federal investigators to launch an investigation on the two combat vessels that sunk several Kodiak Navy vessels during the civil war.
By the end of the term, documents were uncovered and revealed to the public alleging an assassination attempt on former Chancellor, Jack Williams which was ordered by Chancellor Hurst. This reveal caused a fallout of NUP members. Chancellor Hurst would go into hiding as Deputy Chancellor Rufián would take over the office. Braughn Kryos would issue a no-confidence vote against the Chancellor as the State Bureau of Investigations Deputy Director and Unit Commander were both arrested for their involvement. The No-confidence vote would not finish before the end of the 672 Kodiak General Election.
