Greenwashing and Durability act, 674
Article 1: Greenwashing
1.1 Greenwashing shall be defined as a practice of giving a false impression of the environmental impact or benefits of a product, which can mislead consumers
1.2 The Department of the Environment shall establish the Kodiak Environmentalist Regulation Committee(KERC)
- 1.2.1 The KERC shall review all environmental claims verify them and either: remove, approve or modify them.
1.3 This act shall ban the following practices:
- 1.3.1 Generic environmental claims on products without proof
- 1.3.2 Sustainability labels that are not approved and verified or modified by the KERC.
Article 2: Regulating Durability Claims
2.1 This act shall ban the following practices:
- 2.1.1 Advertising goods that have design features that could reduce a product’s lifespan
- 2.1.2 Making unproven durability claims in terms of usage time or intensity under normal conditions
- 2.1.3 Presenting goods as repairable when they are not.
2.2 All citizens that bought any product shall have the right to repair within reason.
- 2.2.1 There shall be establish programs that promote repairing products instead of throwing them away and buying new.
Article 3: Funding
3.1 The funding for all projects mentioned in this act shall be 500,000 thousand florins
