Amendment: Medical Euthanasia Act (661)

Article Two - Legalisation of Medical Euthanasia
2.1 - Amends article 2.1.3 and proposes Articles 2.1.5, 2.1.6, and 2.1.7 in ‘Legalisation of Medical Euthanasia’ as shown below:
2.1.3 — All medical euthanasia must be requested by the patient and may not be request by medical proxy.
2.1.3 a) — In the event that the patient is unable to request medical euthanasia, all direct family members must give universal consensus for a request for medical euthanasia on the patient.
2.1.5 — If a patient fails to meet the criteria outlined in Article 2.1.1 and 2.1.3 but meets the criteria in Article 2.1.3 a, a court case will be held to determine if the patient will be given medical euthanasia.
2.1.6 — In the event Article 2.1.5 is satisfied, two medical professionals will be briefed on the issue, in order to give a second opinion, and to ensure neutrality. Medical Euthanasia will be carried out on the patient if both medical professionals agree that the patient should be euthanised and Article 2.1.3 a is satisfied.
2.1.7 — Attempts to euthanise a family member in an attempt to earn their insurance money will be considered Attempted First Degree Murder, and will be punished under Article 4 of ‘The Kodiak Felony Act’ appropriately.
