Kodiakers! Four years ago, I was elected Chancellor by this General Assembly, in a snap election following the ousting of Jack Williams by SHRIMP. We have had four years of worker-focussed government. My first term solved the immediate, most pressing issues facing the workers. In my second term, although we have faced crises, we have still advanced the cause of the workers, by doing the following:
1. Created and signed the Treaty of Pine with the Augustin Alliance.
2. Returned the successful delivery of public services to their mandates.
3. Worked with President Sousa on the Law Code Rework.
4. Launched an investigation into corruption within the Armed Forces.
5. Ensured the stability of workers' situations following the Astroberg Earthquake.
Once again, these past achievements are nice, but what will another three years of the Adler Chancellery do for you?
IF REELECTED, THE KODIAK WORKERS ALLIANCE WILL ENACT THE FOLLOWING POLICIES - TO SUPPORT YOU:
1. WHEN our party is reelected to hold the Chancellery, we WILL implement a multi-faceted National Service.
2. WHEN our party is reelected to hold the Chancellery, we WILL nationalise the ports of Kodiak.
3. WHEN our party is reelected to hold the Chancellery, we WILL amend the Standing Orders of the General Assembly to clarify norms.
4. WHEN our party is reelected to hold the Chancellery, we WILL establish an inter-industry body to coordinate nationwide economic planning.
Keep the red flag flying! The KWA once again has the concrete steps, clear plan, and well-laid path to improve Kodiak for the workers! The workers are those who matter, and the KWA will listen to them. Once more, I humbly ask - **VOTE ADLER FOR CHANCELLOR!**
Stephan Δudars II (NUP)
With our new vision in place, the National Unity Party is ready to take that stand; to be the guiding hand, the voice of reason and the ears that listen to all sides who seek to aid us in our goal of bringing Kodiak into the modern era, and following that the future. To do this, we have devised five key points of what an NUP future might look like:
1. BOOST OUR BUSINESS: We pledge to restore business confidence in Kodiak, upgrade funding to small businesses, rebuild a strong national workforce which has seen steady decline in recent years, make apprenticeships worth it to help businesses a greater number of skilled workers.
2. MODERNISE OUR MANUFACTURING: We pledge to bring back Kodiak's domestic industry through our own domestic resources, with the aim of ending our reliance on agriculture in our export economy to position Kodiak as a global manufacturing powerhouse.
3. DEVELOP OUR DEFENCE: We pledge to conduct a full audit of the Kodiak Armed Forces to streamline it and remove all unnecessary spending, ready to delegate to replacing outdated equipment and bolstering our cybersecurity.
4. CEMENT OUR CULTURE: We pledge to defend and maintain our heritage sites, protect our vast green spaces from overdevelopment, invest in our tourism industry to subsidise the economy, and encourage sports and the arts to make Kodiak a cultural powerhouse.
5. SAFEGUARD OUR SOCIETY: We pledge that, with the memory of Ryle Coup fresh in our minds, to ensure the Kodiak police are fully equipped, properly trained, and always vigilant to any threats to the safety of the Kodiak public - as well as standing firmly against, to keep our streets safe places for all who use them.
It is these five points that can provide us all a great hope for the future, where all are able to live without fear of danger and crisis around every corner. With the National Unity Party, Kodiak will truly be driven into a new age of stability and hope.
President
John Wedgewood (KWA)
My fellow Kodiakers,
Today, I come before you with strong resolve and great hope to announce my candidature for President of the General Assembly. This is not a decision I make lightly, nor is it a responsibility I ignore. Our Assembly is the foundation of our democracy; it is where our Republic's laws are produced, where the opinions of the people are translated into policy, and where our future is debated and decided. It is a chamber that expects integrity, diligence, and leadership, and I humbly offer my services to achieve that standard.
I've spent these last three years fighting for our country's prosperity and well-being. I came to this Assembly as an MGA with a single goal: to serve Kodiak with honour and conviction. During my tenure, I had the opportunity of spearheading efforts to transform major sectors of our Republic, always putting the needs of the people first. I co-founded the Stop War Society, a movement dedicated to restoring peace and stability in a period when conflict jeopardised our nation's growth. As Minister of Health and Education, I advocated for policies that improved our public health system, increased educational opportunities, and laid the groundwork for a healthier, more educated workforce. These events helped create my vision for our country. They have taught me that leadership is about serving others rather than accumulating power. It is about ensuring that every debate in this chamber is important, that every piece of legislation reflects our citizens' needs, and that every MGA, regardless of party affiliation, has a say in our country's destiny.
The role of President of the General Assembly is not one of personal ambition; it is a commitment to fairness, order, and ensuring that our Assembly runs as efficiently as possible. Under my leadership, I will carry on President Sousa's tradition of robust and stable debate moderation. But I will go further. The President's responsibility is more than only managing talks; it is also to ensure the Assembly's integrity. We are living through a period of unprecedented political and social transition. We've seen how instability and polarisation can undermine public trust in our institutions. I will not allow this to happen. I will work to keep the Assembly a place of decency and reason, where the people come first, rather than personal rivalries or partisan games.
To do this, I will take a proactive approach in assisting MGAs with their legislative efforts. Every MGA, whether an experienced legislator or a first-time representative, deserves assistance in developing excellent, effective legislation. I will improve on the existing structured legislative support system to assist in the development of proposals into well-written, fully debated laws that can withstand examination and really serve our country. Furthermore, I believe in accountability, not only for the Executive, but also for ourselves. Our Assembly must be a body that holds the government accountable for its commitments, ensuring that policies are implemented, ministries are responsive, and citizens' concerns are addressed. To that aim, I shall hold frequent sessions in which the Executive is compelled to report on their accomplishments, answer tough questions, and face the scrutiny of this chamber ((very much similar to what happened with the midterms under Sousa)). Kodiak deserves nothing short of a government that is accountable to the people. β Finally, I commit to be the President of all MGAs. I will treat every member fairly and respectfully, regardless of political affiliation. The President is not a party figure; rather, he is a defender of the Assembly's integrity. I will uphold that standard every day that I hold this office. Dear fellow Kodiakers, I am not seeking this position for status or recognition. I am seeking it because I believe in the Assembly's ability to alter our nation. I desire it because I believe in the power of our democracy. I want it because I believe in the people of Kodiak.
Let us work together to create a powerful, accountable, and unshakeable General Assembly dedicated to the Republic. Let us keep this chamber a light of governance, justice, and progress. Let us proceedβnot as divided factions, but as one nation, united in purpose and resolve. Thank you. I look forward to the campaign and the opportunity to serve you all.
I will take questions at any time.
Brook Vonz (KPP)
Brook walks towards the stage, he rips a few papers, drinks some water and gets ready to speak
Dear Kodiakers, friends and people from all walks of life. I stand before you as a simple man with a simple goal and a simple mission. I, Brook Vonz am an MGA in this great assembly, and you might remember my nerdy face from last the election. I ran for assembly president and I'm happy to announce that this is exactly my intention again!
I'm very happy to already serve Kodiak citizens by being President Sousa's deputy. I already have experience in handling debates and keeping the law code up to date! As the president I will continue the work of great president Sousa but also implement new ways and new policies! I have seen new MGAs sometime be startled at first so I want to help them and lead them into this great institution. Under me the assembly will be efficient, fast and active. I will be a part of debates and make sure that they stay on topic and that they are running smoothly. But how do you have an active assembly with no or bills sitting in the queue, You may ask. Well, I will personally help members with writing bills, adapting them to the new law code or even just even giving them inspiration. This new law code is if I may say myself a masterpiece, amd that's just the reason why it must be maintained and kept up to date before it all becomes for nothing. Midterms were also a great initiative which shed some light and I will definitely continue them.
Evem though three letters next to my name saying KEP do stand there, I, as the president will unequivocally and fully be independent. I will work and make big strides towards work and togetherness from both sides of the assembly. I have come to a conclusion myself. People and citizens see representatives they voted for fight with no end in sight and no productivity, that angers them and it would anger me too. We need a strong and an assembly which says unity and hard work. I am running for you! To make the assembly a place which works for you! You are the ones who made this possible and you deserve all the credit! Thank you and I love you!
